git submodule support

Note for Windows user - ~~working on a build issue for the Windows release. The version is not being properly set during the build process. Will upload the Windows release as soon as we resolve the build issue. Please use the v1.3.3 release for now.~~

Update - issue has been fixed in release v1.3.5 for Windows users. Please use that version.
